Lam Tze-chung was born in 1976 in Hong Kong. At age 18, he approached TVB about working there as a scriptwriter, becoming the youngest writer at the network, working on such programs as Focus on Focus (1994-1999). In 2000, he made his acting debut when he was cast by superstar actordirector Stephen Chow in Shaolin Soccer (2001). He turned in a memorable performance, leading to roles in over 30 films as well as television dramas in China. Lam went on to host television and radio shows, starting in 2001, leading to his hosting the 26th and 28th Hong Kong Film Awards ceremonies.
He then pursued a career behind the camera, directing I’ll Call You (2006), which was shown at the Far East Film Festival of Udine, Italy. That film was followed by The Luckiest Man(2008) and Ultra Reinforcement (2012).
