Chun Wong was born in 1948 in Hong Kong. In 1975, he joined the television station CTV as an actor, making a name for himself playing Zhou Botong, the mischievous old man in the drama series Legend of Condor Heroes (1976) and Return of Condor Heroes (1976), both adapted from the novel of the legendary Louis Cha.
Chun went into film in 1978, joining Shaw Brothers and playing in such films as The Scandalous Warlord (1979), directed by Li Han-hsiang, The Fighting Fool (1980), Notorious Eight (1981), Revenge of the Corpse (1981) and Human Lanterns (1982).
Chun returned to television in 1980, appearing in TVB’s version of Legend of Condor Heroes (1983) and Return of Condor Heroes (1983), playing the same character. He worked for TVB for over 30 years, performing in over 100 series.
Pulling triple duties as director, writer and star, Chun made Figures from Earth (1990), his only directorial effort. The film is a genre blender integrating action, comedy and horror, taken after A Chinese Ghost Story (1987) and The Iceman Cometh (1989).
